about

As opposed to the last song, this one does have some real meaning to it. Throughout the most intense part of the Covid-19 outbreak, my roommate was someone whose name was ALSO Daniel, though his last name was Rentzer and mine is not. Anyway, he was a great guitar player as well and really wanted to get into producing, so I taught him as much as I could in that year as well as pointing him in the right direction to learn more on his own time. Not to toot my own horn, but he got pretty good, and I feel like I had a big part in that. He, our friend Stephen, and I go close and produced a large concept album together which you can find on any streaming platform as Black Box by Sound of Tyranny. Anyway, life continued and Daniel decided he wanted to move back to his home town of New York City. We had one final hangout session, and in that session I gave him in depth access to my Axe-FX II and he created his own tone and wrote a riff that would become that chorus and basis of this song. In essence, I wrote this song as a fond farewell, or rather an until we meet again.
